Our most recent Death Café was held on September 16th, and we had 5 people in attendance. This month, it really felt like we all connected because of our experiences working with death and dying. It led us to our main topic of self-care, and how we can make this a priority in our work. We also talked about the relationships we make in this work, and how much of an honor it is to sit with people in their last moments, or sit with others in their grief afterwards. While few were in attendance, Skully had a wonderful time as always learning about the difficulties and moral questions of dying for the disabled and the incarcerated in the United States. Complex questions of assistance in dying was also mentioned with these groups.
The affogato was legendary, especially with oreo crumbs and hot fudge!
